UN Human Rights Council unanimously approves of Tunisia’s report

GENEVA, June 9, 2008 (TAP)

The United Nations Human Rights Council met, on Monday in Geneva, in its 2nd session for the Global Periodic Assessment (GPA) of the situation of human rights in the world, unanimously approved Tunisia’s report on human rights.

Tunis During a ceremony attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps in Tunisia, President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali announced, Thursday, January 24, 2008, that the Higher Committee for human rights and fundamental freedoms will gain autonomous status and larger prerogatives.
